SAS Photograph Copyright Policy.

The Shropshire Astronomical Society (SAS) encourages its members to publish and share their photographs while acknowledging that the member, as the originator of the photograph, is the copyright holder.

In creating materials for the promotion of the Society and in the Society’s educational and outreach work, the Society will wherever possible use photographs submitted by members to showcase the scope of member work and demonstrate the opportunities for astrophotography in the Shropshire area.

When uploading photographs to the web site or submitting photographs to the Society members agree the following:

1. They certify that they are the originators of the photograph and hold the copyright.

2. They grant the Society a limited perpetual licence to publish the photograph in the Society’s website, social media, magazine, literature and displays.  They also agree the Society may use the photograph for the promotion of the Society and in the Society’s educational and outreach work. This may include use of the photograph in press releases and articles submitted by the Society to third parties.

3.  Wherever practical the members origination of the photograph will be acknowledged unless the member requests otherwise.
