Long term member of the SAS, Zbig Pacult passed away last summer. He was a prodigious observer as well as an achedemic in his specialist area of Solar Observing. He wrote many papers and contributed to the society magazine on many occasions. He contributed to the ever developing out reach work allowing the public to peer through his instrument of choice, a 14" Truss Dobsonian. He often amazed members of the society with his knowledge and images which he freely gave at the monthly meeting. His archive of work is available to members to use.
