A first for the SAS – attendance at a summer festival. However nothing ventured nothing gained. Two evenings at the Shropshire event saw over 200 individual and families visit our array of telescopes enquiring what was going on. Using solar scopes to supplement the usual eclipse glasses the outreach team were kept busy. As darkness fell the search for night objects revealed the summer triangle and Saturn to provide awe and wonder to the noisy gathering. Pity the usual clouds restricted viewing as did the light pollution from the evening stage show and peripheral entertainment. Oh well better luck next year.
