January Monthly SAS Meeting
The chairman reports that 30 hardy stargazers, many members but with a sprinkling of keen starters, turned out for the second meeting of the year. The previous week saw a handful of members turn up at Little Ness Village Hall, to grab a glimpse of a star scattered sky before the clouds rolled in. At Rodington long term member Ralph, entertained the gathering with a tour of Ursa Major with a particular focus on the asterism known as the 'Plough'. His short talk stimulated many questions and queries. Following a tea break we got down to the serious business of catching up after the festive period before heading off into yet another gloomy night.
